Building an AI Governance Program: Enterprise Roadmap
Security Boulevard, Friday, October 30th, 2026
Grip Security outlines a six-step roadmap to make AI governance enforceable by linking AI use to identities, permissions and data access.
This post is syndicated through the Security Bloggers Network from vendor Grip Security, and argues that most AI governance programs have policies but lack visibility and enforcement, as AI spreads through embedded SaaS features, OAuth grants, browser tools and agents.
Grip says 54% of enterprise applications now contain AI functionality and that it sees about one AI agent for every 17 identities.
The roadmap has six steps: discover where AI operates, map it to identities, access and data, set risk-based policies, turn them into technical controls, monitor for drift, and measure results.
It ends by promoting Grip's Shadow AI Assessment.
