You Can generate and Edit Google Docs files directly in Gemini chats now

Google Gemini can now generate, preview and edit PDFs, Docs, Sheets, slides, Markdown and code files inside the chat, available to all users.
Google announced that Gemini users can generate, preview and edit PDFs, Google Docs, Sheets, slide decks, Markdown, TXT files and code directly in Gemini chats, starting October 29, 2026.
PDF preview and editing works on web and mobile, while the other formats are web-only for now.
Users can expand documents to full-screen and highlight text or a table to ask Gemini questions or request changes, such as turning a table into a graph.
Gemini gained file generation and download earlier in the year, and Anthropic launched a similar document and presentation feature in Claude chats.
