HTTP/3 is faster with some work and help from Cloudflare

Delivery Hero moved most users to HTTP/3 and cut home screen end-to-end response time by 17 percent, but had to tune slow parts, a P99 talk showed.
At the P99 2026 virtual conference, Delivery Hero staff engineer Elvis Chidera described moving most of the company's users to HTTP/3 and cutting the apps' end-to-end home screen response time by 17 percent.
He said HTTP/3 is faster than HTTP/2 but has slow bits that need adjusting.
Delivery Hero runs regional apps such as Foodpanda, Glovo and PedidosYa for an estimated 60 million users on networks of widely varying quality, where last-mile latency was the bottleneck; in Pakistan, for example, a secure handshake could take nearly a second at p90.
