AWS Backup Adds Restore Testing Support for Amazon Redshift

AWS, Wednesday, October 28th, 2026

AWS Backup restore testing now supports Amazon Redshift, letting teams verify backups restore and measure restore times.

AWS Backup restore testing can now include Amazon Redshift in its plans.

Plans automatically select recovery points, run restores on a schedule, and measure restore job completion time against recovery time objectives, which helps with disaster recovery readiness and compliance.

Resources are assigned by ARN or tag, each test can restore the latest or a random eligible recovery point, and optional validation can confirm the restored resource before the test resources are deleted.

It works through the console, CLI or SDKs in Regions supporting both features.
