Post-Quantum Encryption Is Supposed to Be Slow. Ameritec's Q-Fortress Numbers Suggest Otherwise
Analytics Insight, Monday, October 26th, 2026
Vendor benchmarks for Ameritec's Q-Fortress post-quantum storage layer claim 7,463 encrypted requests per second with millisecond latency.
Analytics Insight examines Ameritec IPS's Q-Fortress, a storage layer that authenticates, encrypts with AES-256-GCM and logs data using NIST post-quantum standards ML-KEM-1024 and ML-DSA-87.
Ameritec's own single-server benchmark report claims peak throughput of 7,463 encrypted requests per second, 99th-percentile latency of 3.9 ms at 1,000 requests per second, and a 2.7 ms cost per new connection with no per-request overhead.
The vendor also reports zero exploitable vulnerabilities after its testing phases.
The article notes the results are vendor-run, say little about large-scale deployments and would benefit from independent replication.
