Introducing the MongoDB Claude SDK Session Adapter: Durable Session Storage for Agents
MongoDB, Tuesday, October 27th, 2026
MongoDB releases a Claude SDK Session Adapter that stores Claude Agent SDK session transcripts durably in MongoDB.
MongoDB introduced the MongoDB Claude SDK Session Adapter, a SessionStore implementation that provides durable session storage for agents built with the Claude Agent SDK.
By default the SDK saves transcripts to the local file system, so agents on disposable infrastructure such as AWS Lambda lose memory between invocations.
The adapter writes every turn and action to MongoDB immediately, letting any instance resume a session up to the last completed step.
MongoDB cites cross-environment continuity, resilience to host failures, and retention under existing access controls and backups, and the adapter is available now in Python, with TypeScript planned for January 2027.
