Terraform Advances Infrastructure Lifecycle Management for the Agentic Era

HashiCorp, Monday, October 26th, 2026

HashiCorp unveils Terraform updates for agentic infrastructure, including GA Terraform policy, a developer portal and a remote MCP server.

At HashiConf at TechXchange, HashiCorp announced new Terraform capabilities aimed at AI-driven infrastructure work.

Terraform policy is now generally available, letting teams write and enforce HCL-based policy as code within Terraform.

Public previews include enhanced search with Terraform policy to find unmanaged resources and check compliance before import, the Terraform Developer Portal for self-service by developers and AI agents, and a remote Terraform MCP server for connecting agents to HCP Terraform.

The post also covers intent-driven workflows for Terraform on Z and LinuxONE in private preview and HCP Terraform powered by Infragraph.
