Databricks AI Search now natively indexes Streaming Tables, Materialized Views and Managed Iceberg tables alongside Delta.
Databricks AI Search now supports Streaming Tables, Materialized Views and Managed tables using Iceberg v3 or later as direct index sources, in addition to Delta tables.
Streaming Tables keep indexes fresh with continuously arriving events for uses like fraud detection and real-time recommendations, Materialized Views enable personalized and session-aware search, and Managed Iceberg brings open-format data into search across engines.
Previously, customers had to build a separate Delta copy and synchronization pipeline for these sources.
Indexes are created with the same Delta Sync workflow via UI or API.
