AI Factories Package NVIDIA Reference Architecture, but Who's Buying?

TechTarget, Thursday, October 22nd, 2026

Partners are packaging Nvidia's OpenShell agent-security architecture into AI factories, but enterprise buyers remain unclear.

At GTC Berlin, Nvidia launched its OpenShell Reference Architecture, which pairs Vera Rubin systems with infrastructure-level guardrails for AI agents, and partners Red Hat, HPE and Dell quickly packaged it into AI factory offerings.

Moor Insights' Mike Leone notes that monitoring runs on BlueField network cards so a compromised agent cannot disable it.

He adds that private AI factories bring many machine identities, new power and liquid-cooling demands, and high total cost.

He says buyers today are mostly clouds, neoclouds, frontier labs and national programs, with most enterprises renting capacity, though Red Hat says some banks and telcos have placed orders.
