The Shift to Agentic Systems Is Testing AI Governance

OutSystems research with KPMG and CIO Dive finds executives trust their AI governance even as AI tool sprawl grows.
OutSystems says 82% of executives in its survey believe their AI governance keeps up with adoption, while 72% run more than 20 distinct AI tools and platforms.
The findings come from Engineering Business Outcomes: The Shift to Agentic Systems, a report produced with KPMG and CIO Dive Studio from a survey of 858 executives in North America, Europe, Japan, India and Australia.
It found 73% of organizations use agentic AI in risk and compliance, followed by customer service at 69% and IT operations and finance at 63% each, as agents act across systems and hand work to one another.
