Autonomy Where It Pays Off. Control Where It Counts.

DataRobot lays out its position on long-running autonomous agents and argues most business processes need governed specialists.
DataRobot says many agentic AI projects stall at the person who must sign off, who asks who authorized an agent's actions.
Its Unmet AI Needs Survey 2026 of 413 stakeholders found respondents split 49% to 51% on whether existing access controls can govern agents, 61% expect governance to be the top challenge when scaling to 100 or more agents, and 94% hit Day 2 operational issues after deployment.
DataRobot argues that having a human approve every action automates nothing, and that most business processes need a governed specialist agent rather than open-ended autonomy.
