Passkey Authentications Double but Adoption Still Slow

Infosecurity Magazine, Wednesday, October 14th, 2026

Dashlane data shows passkey logins nearly doubled to 2.5 million a month, but they remain a minority on major sites.

Dashlane's third annual Passkey Power 20 report analyzed passkey authentications from July 2025 to June 2026.

Passkey logins by its users nearly doubled year on year to 2.5 million per month, and 57% of users now store at least one passkey, up from 40%.

Passkeys still account for a minority of logins on major sites such as Google (28%), PayPal (18%), Amazon (17%) and eBay (8%).

The article explains why passkeys resist phishing and account takeover and notes growing enterprise support, with HubSpot and Cisco Duo leading authentication volume.
