Enterprise Controls Can't Keep Up With AI Agents

Companies are granting AI agents authority faster than they can inventory, monitor or stop them.
Liz Hughes reports that enterprises are giving agents more authority faster than they are building the systems to track and control them, and some can't even inventory which agents are running.
Citing Computer Weekly, IBM research and InformationWeek, she notes that identity tells a company which agent is acting but not whether the action is appropriate, since agents keep making decisions after access is granted.
Enterprises need visibility into where agents operate and what authority they hold, along with controls to limit or stop them.
A Workato report found 36% of leaders would handle an agent-driven security incident quietly rather than disclose it.
