TrueNAS 27 RC.1 adds native S3, TrueSearch, WebShare, Fusion Pools 2.0 and OpenZFS 2.4, with the final release due in December.
TrueNAS has renamed its next release from 26 to 27 as it moves to one major release per year, with 27.0 still planned for early December 2026.
RC.1 is based on OpenZFS 2.4 and Linux kernel 6.18 and adds an early-access native S3 interface, TrueSearch indexing of file names, metadata and content, and WebShare browser access that keeps existing permissions.
Fusion Pools 2.0 allows RAIDZ special vdevs, and Enterprise HA systems gain live dataset tiering and stateful SMB failover.
