GenAI Risks Creating Two-Speed Workforce: PwC Survey
Techstrong.ai, Tuesday, October 6th, 2026
PwC's 49,000-worker survey finds AI use rising fast while access to training falls behind.
PwC's Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2026 polled 49,364 workers in 48 countries and found 64% used AI at work in the past year, with daily generative AI use rising from 14% to 22%.
Yet only 51% said they had adequate job training, down from 59%.
PwC segments workers into front-runners (14%), AI insurgents (18%), indispensables (11%) and the engine room (56%), where only two in five have needed training, and warns of a retention problem for scarce AI-skilled talent and a widening divide.
