Growing PQC at the Edge Belies Deeper Quantum-Readiness Challenges
CSO Online, Thursday, October 8th, 2026
54% of top websites support post-quantum key exchange, but mostly because CDNs enabled it, not enterprises.
F5 Labs found that 54% of the top 1 million websites support post-quantum key exchange, but the figure drops to 22% when Cloudflare-hosted sites are excluded, since progress comes largely from CDN providers enabling PQC by default.
Connections behind the CDN, such as origin hops, service meshes, VPNs, SSH and code signing, are invisible from outside and may be bigger harvest-now, decrypt-later targets.
Experts urge CISOs not to mistake front-door protection for enterprise quantum readiness.
