TechTarget asked seven IT leaders and analysts whether AI has made the CIO's job harder, and most said yes, citing pressure to deliver value faster plus new risks around security, data, spending and governance.
Others said the job is more complex but not necessarily harder, while Infineo CISO Tony Garcia described help desk and SOC agents that resolve issues and triage alerts but also generate more noise and alert fatigue.
The common tension is that AI expands what IT can accomplish while increasing the number of decisions CIOs must manage.
