MongoDB 9.0's Observability Capabilities: Less Hunting, More Resolving
MongoDB, Wednesday, October 7th, 2026
MongoDB 9.0 adds OpenTelemetry event export, a redesigned Atlas Metrics UI and Query Shape Insights for writes.
MongoDB details three observability additions in version 9.0: OpenTelemetry enhancements, a redesigned Atlas Metrics UI, and Query Shape Insights extended to write operations.
A new Atlas Events Integration exports Activity Feed events such as cluster changes, user management and network access to OpenTelemetry-compatible destinations, letting teams correlate latency spikes with configuration or scaling events alongside existing metrics and log integrations.
The new Metrics UI consolidates a fragmented workflow into one cluster-level view with node selectors.
