Why AI Storage Needs a Resilient Front Door: A View From SNIA SDC 2026

F5, Friday, October 9th, 2026

F5 argues that resiliency and security for AI object storage are one problem, best solved by an S3-aware front door.

At SNIA SDC 2026, F5 engineers presented the view that resiliency and security in AI storage are a single design problem.

RAG pipelines pull more vectors and documents from object stores, making storage availability and latency part of time-to-token, and S3-compatible storage is still not fully interoperable.

F5 recommends a consistent S3-aware front door that gives clients one predictable endpoint, routes around node outages, network faults and long drive rebuilds, and enforces security.
