For Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Dahua Technology marketing director Michael Lawrence writes in Professional Security that AI is transforming vulnerability discovery, citing Anthropic's Claude Mythos finding a 27-year-old OpenBSD flaw and thousands of high-severity bugs across major operating systems and browsers, sometimes producing exploits in hours.
The same capability could aid attackers, so vulnerabilities may be found and exploited faster than organizations can respond.
Lawrence argues prevention alone is not enough, and manufacturers must ensure resilience and timely updates throughout the supported product lifecycle.
