MongoDB, Tuesday, September 29th, 2026
MongoDB 9.0 is GA with up to 2x throughput, and Atlas Infinite enters public preview for extreme elasticity.
MongoDB announced general availability of MongoDB 9.0, which it says delivers up to 2x higher throughput, 35% faster reads and 30% faster updates across Atlas, Enterprise Advanced and Community Edition.
It also introduced Atlas Infinite in public preview, a new Atlas deployment option built to absorb unpredictable demand spikes in real time and cut time to scale by more than 96%.
Okta is quoted on using it to scale with unpredictable authentication traffic without paying for idle capacity.
