Fortinet's Derek Manky says AI-driven, industrialized cybercrime makes basic cyber hygiene and security culture more critical.
Writing for Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Fortinet's Derek Manky notes that the 2026 Fortinet Global Threat Landscape Report shows cybercrime operating as an industrial supply chain of credentials, infrastructure, malware and network access.
That supply chain is now accelerated by automation and AI, shrinking exploit windows.
As a result, everyday behaviors such as strong passwords, careful handling of MFA prompts, timely updates and prompt phishing reports are critical to interrupting attacks before they progress.
