Fortinet Expands AI Security Across Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise

Fortinet adds FortiAIGate support for Gemini Enterprise and new AI and MCP traffic controls in FortiOS 8.0.
Fortinet announced expanded Google Cloud integrations to secure AI models, agents, data and users from development through runtime.
New capabilities include FortiAIGate support for Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise for runtime inspection and policy enforcement of AI traffic, enhanced controls for AI and Model Context Protocol traffic in FortiOS 8.0, and deeper integration with Google Unified Security.
Fortinet says this addresses risks such as compromised prompts, excessive permissions, data leakage and shadow AI use.
