Databricks' new ai_decide function returns fast, low-cost structured decisions from text, in SQL batches or via REST.
Databricks launched ai_decide, an AI Function that takes unstructured text and returns structured decisions in a fraction of a second.
Because it is optimized for decisions rather than text generation, it is faster and cheaper than LLMs for tasks such as classifying support tickets, flagging documents for review or routing prompts to the right model.
It also supports tagging reviews and evaluating agent quality, and runs at batch scale in SQL or in real time over REST on governed data.
