Introducing GPT-6.1 Sol

OpenAI, Tuesday, September 29th, 2026

GPT-6.1 Sol nearly matches GPT-6 Astra on agentic coding and professional work at one-fifth of Astra's token prices.

OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgrade to GPT-6 Sol that nearly matches GPT-6 Astra on agentic coding, computer use and professional work at one-fifth of Astra's standard token prices.

Cached input costs $0.10 per million tokens, 95% below standard input pricing and half of GPT-6 Sol's cached rate, making it cheaper to run agents that reuse context.

On the DeepSWE v1.1 software-engineering benchmark it matches Astra at roughly one-fifth the cost and beats GPT-6 Sol's best score by 6.4 points, and OpenAI also reports gains on document understanding and multi-step business workflows.
