Microsoft announces Fabric and Azure database advances, including Fabric IQ grounding Copilot in governed Power BI semantic models.
Announced at the European Microsoft Fabric and SQL Community Conference in Barcelona, Microsoft's new data innovations aim to put an organization's unique data and business context at the center of its AI strategy.
A highlight is Fabric IQ, now generally available in Microsoft Copilot Chat and Cowork, which grounds answers in governed Power BI semantic models, metrics and business definitions while preserving existing access controls.
Integration with the new Copilot Code experience is coming through the Frontier program.
