Moonshot AI's open-weight Kimi K3 model is now in private preview on Snowflake Cortex AI.
Kimi K3, Moonshot AI's open-weight model, is available in private preview through Snowflake Cortex AI Functions and Cortex Inference, giving teams another model option for reasoning-heavy tasks.
Moonshot's own evaluations report K3 autonomously building a working GPU compiler, reproducing complex astrophysics research in two hours, and sustaining multi-day coding sessions across large repositories.
The 2.8-trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts model activates 16 of 896 experts per token and reportedly improves scaling efficiency 2.5x over its predecessor, K2.
Support for additional Snowflake surfaces like CoCo, Cortex Agents and CoWork is coming soon.
