Google Cloud released GKE agentic migration, an open-source, purpose-built agent plugin meant to replace ad-hoc LLM prompting for migrating Kubernetes environments from AWS EKS to GKE.
Manual migrations require platform teams to dissect infrastructure-as-code and translate cloud-specific configurations, and general-purpose LLM prompting often hallucinates resource properties or drops network and identity settings.
The new pipeline adds deterministic guardrails so migrations avoid the auditing and debugging overhead that erodes the time savings of raw AI-assisted conversion. Google frames execution risk and unpredictability as the biggest barriers large enterprises face in cloud modernization.
