Google introduced Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar, which pairs its live dialogue models with low-latency streaming video to give conversational AI a real-time visual presence.
The feature offers precise lip-syncing, natural expressions, and fluid turn-taking through a dynamic visual persona, aimed at enterprise use cases like customer service and interactive walkthroughs.
It supports a range of distinct avatar characters and, backed by Gemini's reasoning, can trigger asynchronous tool calls to fetch data in the background without interrupting the conversation. It is available starting today in Gemini Enterprise.
