Cisco Brings Splunk AI on Premises, Expands Agent Observability, Monitors Token Costs

Network World reports Cisco is taking Splunk AI to air-gapped sites and adding agent observability with token cost tracking.
Announced at Splunk .conf26, Cisco is extending Splunk's AI capabilities into self-managed and air-gapped environments through a new Cisco AI POD for Splunk.
The company also expanded Splunk Agent Observability with a Tokenomics capability that tracks and controls the token spend of AI agents, a growing operational cost line for enterprises.
Additional pieces include Observability Studio and a Network Intelligence App that correlates application telemetry with network data. Network World frames the release as Cisco answering two concrete enterprise objections to agentic AI: data residency and unpredictable inference cost.
