Blocks & Files details how HPE's Alletra MP X10000 Release 4 doubles cluster size to 16 nodes and adds NFS file alongside object.
Blocks & Files reports that HPE's Alletra Storage MP X10000 Release 4 is generally available, doubling supported configurations from 8 nodes and 8 JBOFs to 16/16 and lifting maximum raw capacity from about 11.8PB to roughly 23PB.
The release adds native NFS file services alongside the existing object store, turning the X10000 into a unified unstructured data system rather than an object-only silo.
HPE added RDMA for faster file transfers and NVIDIA GPUDirect support, claiming up to 20x faster time to first token for AI inference. Security additions include TLS 1.3 and KMIP external key management, plus active/active bucket-level replication between arrays.
