TP-Link unveiled the first Wi-Fi 8 routers at IFA 2026, but the standard targets reliability rather than speed, so most users can wait.
TP-Link launched the first Wi-Fi 8 routers, the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra mesh system, at IFA 2026, with availability later this year.
Wi-Fi 8 does not raise raw speeds over Wi-Fi 7; instead it improves stability, reliability and performance at the edge of coverage and in dense environments with many devices.
TP-Link's hardware uses Dynamic Sub-band Operation and Non-Primary Channel Access to allocate only the bandwidth each device needs. TechRadar advises most Wi-Fi 6 and 7 owners to wait until client devices supporting the standard become widespread.
