Veeam addresses workloads that are always in motion, scaling up and down, spinning up in new places and eventually landing on infrastructure the organization was not running a year ago.
The hypervisor market specifically is changing fast, with costs climbing and licensing models that keep moving, which pushes migrations that were not planned.
Veeam's answer is portable data protection: a portable backup format so backups remain usable after a move, cross-hypervisor restore so a machine backed up on one platform can be recovered onto another, and licensing that follows the workload rather than binding it to a platform.
