Delivering Vera: NVIDIA's First CPU Built for Agents Is Shipping Now

NVIDIA, Thursday, August 27th, 2026

NVIDIA's Vera CPU, its first processor designed for AI agents, has begun shipping at scale across the AI ecosystem.

NVIDIA has begun shipping the Vera CPU at scale, marking the availability of its first processor designed specifically for AI agents.

Ian Buck, NVIDIA Vice President of Hyperscale and HPC, hand-delivered Vera CPU systems across the AI ecosystem as volume shipments started.

The distinction NVIDIA draws is that agentic workloads place different demands on the CPU than traditional inference serving, with orchestration, tool calls and control flow consuming host cycles rather than accelerator time.

Vera is positioned as the host processor built for that pattern rather than a general-purpose part adapted to it.
