Why Your Next Virtualization Decision Is Really an Operating Model Decision

HPE, Wednesday, August 26th, 2026

HPE argues swapping virtualization platforms leaves the real problem, fragmented tooling and manual handoffs, untouched.

HPE's Varma Kunaparaju, SVP and GM of CloudOps Software and Platform, argues that enterprises rethinking virtualization are finding the real opportunity lies in how they operate the whole estate rather than which hypervisor they run. Swapping one virtualization platform for another can leave the same fragmented tooling, manual handoffs and operational complexity exactly where they were.

The harder problem is that a single team now owns every runtime and workload type in the estate, with a different tool and console for each one.

HPE's argument is for bringing provisioning, automation, observability and protection into a unified cloud operating model, so the platform migration delivers an operational change rather than a like-for-like replacement.
