Databricks is heading to VLDB 2026 to present several innovations underpinning its platform, with co-founder and chief architect Reynold Xin delivering the opening keynote. The post previews work on Lakebase, Structured Streaming and lakehouse optimizations.
Lakebase is described as a third-generation cloud database that decouples transactional compute from storage, an architecture the company argues is well suited to agentic workflows where many short-lived agents need transactional state without dedicated capacity.
The post also invites conference attendees to meet the Databricks engineering and recruiting teams on site.
