Red Hat launches its build of Karpenter, a high-performance node autoscaler for Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS.
Red Hat has introduced its own build of Karpenter, the high-performance Kubernetes node autoscaler, targeted at Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS.
The tool provisions and deprovisions compute nodes in response to actual workload demand, aiming to improve infrastructure efficiency and give teams tighter cost control than static node groups allow.
Authors Subin Modeel and Bala Chandrasekaran walk through how the autoscaler fits into OpenShift cluster operations and what it changes for capacity planning. The release gives ROSA customers a Red Hat-supported path to the Karpenter project rather than a self-managed upstream deployment.
