Databricks has launched Model Provider Services within its Unity AI Gateway, giving organizations access to Meta's newly released Muse Spark 1.1 model alongside providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic through a single set of governance controls.
The announcement targets a recurring problem: when new models ship, teams spin up fragmented API key management and lose centralized visibility into usage and spending. With the new capability, organizations register models once and control access using familiar Unity Catalog permissions, eliminating API key sprawl.
Databricks frames the benefits as choice, control, and clarity, with automatic tracking of token usage, latency, and cost attribution. The feature is in preview across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
