Cursor launches a new SDK enabling developers to build AI agents using TypeScript with the same models powering Cursor.
Cursor has introduced a new SDK that allows developers to build programmatic agents using TypeScript with access to the same runtime, harness, and frontier models that power Cursor's desktop, CLI, and web applications.
The SDK can run locally on a developer's machine or on Cursor's cloud infrastructure, with straightforward installation via npm and simple API usage. The SDK is now available in public beta for all users with token-based consumption pricing, alongside improvements to the Cloud Agents API that enhance durability, streaming, and lifecycle management. Sample projects are available in a public repository for developers to fork and extend for their own use cases.
