SNIA: Training Deep Learning Models in the Cloud (March 15th)
Wednesday, March 15th, 2023: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Industry analysts predict Deep Learning (DL) will account for the majority of cloud workloads. Additionally, training of deep learning models will represent the majority of server applications in the next few years. Among DL workloads, foundation models -- a new class of AI models that are trained on broad data (typically via self-supervision) using billions of parameters - are expected to consume the majority of the infrastructure.

This webcast will discuss how Deep Learning models are gaining prominence in various industries, and provide examples of the benefits of AI adoption. We'll enumerate considerations for selection of Deep Learning infrastructure in on-premises and cloud data centers. Our presentation will include an assessment of various solution approaches and identify challenges faced by enterprises in their adoption of AI and Deep Learning technologies.

DevOps: Building the Perfect Dataset (March 15th)
Wednesday, March 15th, 2023: 11:00AM to 12:00 PM EST
In this webinar, we will explore the best practices for building and labeling datasets, and discuss the key considerations that should be taken into account to ensure that your models perform to their full potential.

In today's data-driven world, having a robust and comprehensive dataset is critical for the success of machine learning models. But building the perfect dataset is not a simple task.

Join us and you'll learn:

  • What's the difference between traditional modeling and data-centric AI, and why is it happening now?
  • What's the worst mistake people can make with their datasets?
  • What's the most powerful way to automatically label huge datasets?
  • As a follow-up, can we fine-tune or augment that automatic labeling process with humans in the loop?
  • Is it possible to build a massive dataset without web scraping?
  • How do we store all that data? Is there any dream system that can do text, video, images, and more all equally well?

An intimate gathering of senior IT leaders from diverse industries, grappling with similar issues

cloud governance should happen before an organization starts its journey to the cloud. All too often, the board, IT leaders, and business partners turn their attention to cloud governance later, as a result of too-high costs or a compliance lapse. Cloud governance provides the confidence that a company's cloud platform is fully optimized, compliant, secure, well architected, and monitored in real-time. Cloud governance, done correctly, can help the enterprise - as well as its partners, employees, and customers - operate their systems with a high degree of confidence.

Cybercriminals have always been about data - stealing data, compromising data, holding data hostage. Businesses continue to respond with malware detection on laptops and networks to protect data and prevent breaches, so why should storage be left out? Storage houses what the bad actors are targeting - your data. Is there anything we can do from within the storage layer to further enhance defense in depth?

Enter "Cyberstorage", a term coined by Gartner, which is defined as doing threat detection and response in storage software or hardware. A parallel, related trend in the security industry is eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) which shifts some of the threat detection from centralized security monitoring tools (SIEMs) down into each domain (e.g., endpoint, network) for faster detection and automated response. Factor in the growing impact of ransomware and all these forces are driving the need to find creative, new ways to detect malware, including from inside the storage domain.

In this session we'll discuss:

  • Cyberstorage and XDR - what are these emerging trends?
  • Threat detection and response methods through a storage lens
  • Possible approaches for detection when used in conjunction with security tooling
  • Why silos between security and storage need to be addressed for successful threat detection
