Nutanix Eases Development Of IoT Apps

Nutanix, a vendor of hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, has released a new developer environment that allows developers to try and test IoT and AI apps in the cloud. Starting May 7, developers can sign up for a free 10-day trial of this experience.

The developer environment is built under Nutanix's Xi IoT Platform and gives developers access to a rapid development environment for creating internet of things and artificial intelligence apps in the cloud. The Rapid Development Environment for IoT includes features such as Xi IoT Cloud Instance, Xi IoT Sensor App and Xi IoT App Library and supports the ability to easily deploy IoT software in the cloud or at the edge, according to the company. The environment has been tuned specifically for IoT and AI, eliminating many of the configuration chores developers had to perform using other cloud-based development environments, and enables single-click deployment via a management console.

Nutanix, Inc. announced the continued evolution of its offerings across private and public clouds, further making multicloud computing a reality for its customers. With today's news Nutanix is extending its Xi Frame desktop-as-a-service solution from the public cloud to the private cloud, enabling the delivery of apps and desktops in a true hybrid cloud environment. In addition, the company is announcing new functionality and additional planned availability zones for its cloud-based disaster recovery (DR) service, Xi Leap.
Nutanix Hyperconverges Secondary Storage With Nutanix Mine

Nutanix announced Nutanix Mine, a new open solution that integrates secondary storage operations with the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform, delivering a complete platform for primary and secondary storage within the private cloud. Through native integration with industry-leading backup vendors Veeam, HYCU, Commvault, Veritas and Unitrends, customers will be able to manage their HCI environment and backup operations from a single management console, reducing the operational cost and complexity of standalone back-up and recovery solutions. Mine will streamline overall deployment, and simplify the full lifecycle of data backup operations, including on-going management, scaling and troubleshooting - all while preserving the customer's freedom to choose the right back-up service for their particular infrastructure environment.

Partners See Increased Avenues for Growth with Nutanix and HPE Partnership

Nutanix announced opportunities and benefits for joint Nutanix and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) partners following the companies' recently announced agreement. In the agreement, Nutanix will provide its Enterprise Cloud OS software to HPE to sell as-a-service (aaS) via the HPE GreenLake partner ecosystem. In addition, joint Nutanix and HPE partners will be able to sell DX appliances, a new appliance series built with HPE servers and factory-installed Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS software.
